In the semi-autobiographical Waltz With Bashir, director Ari Folman loosely recounts his time fighting as an Israeli solider in the 1982 Lebanon war.... One night at a bar, an old friend tells director Ari Folman about a recurring nightmare in which he is chased by 26 vicious dogs. Every night, the same number of beasts. Triggered by the nightmares of his friend Folman starts to realise that he has pushed his own memories of that war to his subconscious. Needing to discover the truth about that time and about himself, Folman interviews people who served there with him, trying to flesh out the brief images in his head.. As Folman delves deeper and deeper into the mystery, his memory begins to creep up in surreal image… Winner Best Animated Feature Asia Pacific Screen Awards 2008 Winner of six Israeli Ophir Awards including Best Film and Best Director.
