To mark the 100th anniversary of the Russian Ballets of Serge Diaghilev, a performance of four essential works from Massine, Nijinski and Fokine will be staged at Paris's spectacular Palais Garnier by the legendary Paris National Opera Ballet and captured livefor audiences around the world.
Opening the door to modernity, and inaugurating the collaboration between painters, musicians and cutting-edge choreographers, The Spectre of the Rose, The Afternoon of the Faun, The Tricorn and Petroushka are four iconic collaborative works between the elite artists of the epoch: Debussy, Stravinsky, Falla, Picasso, Bakst, Massine, Nijinski and Fokine. Defying all previous ballet conventions, these master works were hailed as some of the most audacious artistic adventures of their time. Presented with their original choreography, Les Ballets Russes will feature the stars, the principle dancers, the Corps de Ballet and the Orchestra of the National Opera of Paris under the musical direction of Vello Pahn.
