"Francis Veber... King of the comic situation has written numerous cult films - The Tall Blond Man with One Black Shoe, La Cage aux Folles or The Dinner Game, not to forget L'Emmerdeur (A Pain In The Ass) which was first directed in 1973 by Edouard Molinaro.

Now with this new version he is the director - and the result: a film more lively and funnier than its precedessor with several significant changes. Richard Berry in the role of the hitman and Patrick Timsit, in that of Francois Pignon (the pain in the ass) who prevents him from doing his job, are both irresistable. One is never bored and you are laughing often. A perfect piece to entertain you and help you forget your problems!" - Extracts from The Point

Francis Pignon (Timsit) whose wife (Ledoyen) has just left him for a shrink, checks into the same Nice hotel as hitman Ralf (Berry). Ralf is there to stake out a key witness in a major corruption trial in the law courts opposite the hotel, while Pignon plans to hang himself in the bathroom. Their adjoining rooms bring them together; the perfect killer and the perfect pest and riotous complications cement their relationship as Pignon's fondness for the cold-as-ice assassin grows stronger.

"Veber keeps spinning gold... Laughter barely lets up." - Empire

"The film stands out for its superb comic moments and non-stop invention." - Ron Banks, The West Australian

"...one long good-hearted laugh - and a great example of the French farce, delivered with elegance..." - Louise Keller, Urbancinefile

"Men behaving hilariously badley." - Ben McEachen, Sunday Herald Sun
