Terry Pratchett has recently been honoured for his outstanding contribution to children's writing by the Writer's Guild of Great Britain in London!

 

Pratchett is one of the most-read writers in the UK, and is best known for his series of Discworld fantasy novels. Nation, based on Pratchett's novel, will be the next production to screen in the highly acclaimed NT Live series.

Amreeka Director Cherien Dabis's auspicious debut feature, Amreeka, is a warm and lighthearted film about one Palestinian family's tumultuous journey into Diaspora amidst the cultural fallout of America's war in Iraq. Amreeka, which screened in Director's Fortnight at the 2009 Cannes Film Festival, was awarded the prestigious critics' prize by the Fipresci International Federation of Film Critics.

Soul Kitchen Fatih Akin, Cannes award-winner for The Edge of Heaven, is soon to complete his new feature project, Soul Kitchen. Returning to his favourite themes of culture and gender clash, the Turkish-German director reunites with Head On's Birol Ünel for the romantic comedy Soul Kitchen.
